Stefan Kolev, 2010-11 Visitor, Appointed Managing Director of the Wilhelm-Röpke-Institute

Stefan Kolev, a 2010-11 HOPE Center Visiting Scholar, was appointed Managing Director of the Wilhelm-Röpke-Institute in Erfurt, Germany. The Institute was founded in 2007 with the goal to contribute to the revitalization of ordoliberal thinking in academia and in the public sphere. Among other activities, it organizes an annual Wilhelm Röpke Lecture, an annual Young Scholars Colloquium on History of Economic Thought, and conferences and seminars on the further development of Constitutional Economics (Ordnungsökonomik). In the last years, the entire archive of Wilhelm Röpke, physically located at the University of Cologne, was digitalized by the Institute, for which currently the finding aid is being compiled.

Being the new Managing Director, Stefan, along with having a professorship of economics at the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau, attempts to continue on this promising development of the Röpke Institute by attracting new members, by finishing the archive digitalization project, and by focusing on national and international networking activities, among others actively participating in the Jena Alliance for Revitalization of the Social Market Economy.
