HOPE uses ScholarOne to manage all submissions, referee reports, and editorial decisions. All new submissions should be submitted through ScholarOne. All referee reports on those submission should also be submitted through ScholarOne.
All other editorial correspondence should be sent to hope@duke.edu.
History of Political Economy uses a single-blind refereeing process. Please include your name and affiliation (if you have one) on the first page of your paper. Papers should be double-spaced, use a conventional 12-point type such as Times New Roman, and have one-inch margins all around. Please number your pages.
Papers should be submitted as a Word document. Please submit your paper through ScholarOne.
Only original, unpublished papers will be considered. Please do not simultaneously offer your paper to another publication.
Images should be scanned at a minimum of 300 dpi and at 4.25 inches wide and be submitted as a TIFF or EPS graphics file.
Authors are expected to sign a publication agreement as a precondition of publication. Please retain a copy of the publication agreement for your records, as it explains what your rights are as the author of the paper, including republication rights.
