Sonia Manseri, a 2014-15 HOPE Center Fellow, Wins PhD Scholarship

Sonia Manseri, a 2014-15 HOPE Center Fellow whose research is on the history of growth models, has won a scholarship that will fund the first three years of her PhD studies.

The scholarship is awarded to "normaliens," students who have the status of civil servant at the Ecole normale supérieure de Cachan. Candidates for the scholarship are judged by a commission of professionals in a highly selective process. The scholarship funds come from the Minister of Research through the Doctoral School of Paris 1.

Sonia will be affiliated with the PHARE laboratory and, as such, will pursue her PhD research under the supervision of Michaël Assous, who was a HOPE Center Fellow in 2013-14.

Her proejct is titled "An American Tradition of Growth Economic Analysis: From the Theory of the 1930s and 1940s to the Political Economy of the 1960s."
