2017 HOPE Conference: "The Political Economy of Development Economics: A Historical Perspective," April 28-29, 2017

Welcome to the homepage of the 2017 HOPE conference, "The Political Economy of Development Economics: A Historical Perspective."

Organized by Michele Alacevich (University of Bologna and INET), and Mauro Boianovsky (University of Brasilia), the conference will trace the course of development economics.

The conference, which is open to invited scholars and guests only, will take place April 28-29, 2017 at the Sanford School of Public Policy on the campus of Duke University. A subset of the papers will appear as a special issue of History of Political Economy in 2018.

The conference is funded by Duke University Press and the Center for the History of Political Economy at Duke University.
