James Otteson will give a Hayek Lecture titled "The End of Socialism" on Thursday, November 12, 2016, at 3:00 pm in Westbrook 0012.
Professor Otteson is executive director of the BB&T Center for the Study of Capitalism, the Thomas W. Smith Presidential Chair in Business Ethics, and Teaching Professor of Political Economy, at Wake Forest University.
His most recent book, The End of Socialism, was published in 2014 by Cambridge University Press. He is also the author of Adam Smith (Bloomsbury Academic, 2013) and Adam Smith's Marketplace of Life (Cambridge University Press, 2002).
The Hayek Lecture Series is funded by the Thomas W. Smith Foundation and is sponored by the Center for the History of Political Economy at Duke University, Duke University's program in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, and Duke University's American Values and Institutions program.
The lecture is open to the public.
